I’ll be photographing 20 people with a vintage Big Shot camera and rare peel apart Polaroid film on October 24th in Salt Lake City!
When you book, you’re booking one portrait for $70. There are no retakes. The photo develops over about 1 minute, and you’ll get to watch the peel before taking it home along with a digital scan of your photo!
This is an open house at a studio, so there are no assigned appointment times. When you book your ticket, you’re guaranteed a spot for one portrait. Please arrive anytime between 10:00 and 11:30 AM. Portraits will be photographed as people arrive, so there may be a little wait depending on when you come in.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Due to the rarity of the film you can only pre-book one portrait per person. You can purchase another $70 exposure during the event while supplies last
-
The film is getting harder and harder to come by, but I am hoping to host these events once a month October-March
-
Yes, but the Big Shot camera is designed for one person portraits, so with two people there is a higher likelihood of the image being blurry. Sometimes (like the example image) It can turn out pretty crisp!
-
There may be a little wait when you arrive since portraits are done one at a time. Once it’s your turn, the actual portrait is pretty quick, but the print needs time to develop and dry before I can scan it and get your original print ready to take home. I’d plan to spend around 30 to 45 minutes at the event, depending on the wait.
-
Each portrait is one shot, so there are no complimentary retakes. If you blink, make a face you hate, or just want another chance, you’re welcome to purchase another $70 exposure.
The only time I’ll automatically retake a photo is if something goes wrong with the camera or film itself, like the flash doesn’t fire or the image doesn’t properly develop.

Wear whatever you want! The Big Shot is a super close up portrait, so you won’t see much of your outfit in the final photo anyway. I’d just pick a color you love wearing or something that feels like you.
-
Yes! There will be three different backdrop options to choose from when you arrive. Since the Big Shot is such a close up portrait, the backdrop is mostly there to add a little color and personality to the photo. Pick whichever one feels most like you!
